First Bus and Partick Thistle announce free bus travel for season ticket holders
We are excited to announce that Partick Thistle season ticket holders will be entitled to FREE matchday travel on First Bus services in the Glasgow area.
In an exciting new partnership for the Club, First Bus will work with us to encourage supporters to make more use of public transport and to travel sustainably, particularly when travelling to Firhill on matchday. With no fewer than 10 different First Bus services operating within a short walking distance of Firhill Stadium, there is a range of routes for all Jags fans to utilise public transport.
The partnership with First Bus takes effect immediately and Partick Thistle 2022/23 season ticket holders will be able to take advantage of this fantastic offer across all home cinch Championship fixtures during the 2022/23 season, starting with our home league opener against Hamilton Accies on Saturday 6th August.
Season ticket holders will receive a promo code ahead of each match, sent via email by the club. This code offers 100% discount on a First Day Adult Ticket when redeemed at checkout on the First Bus App.
Any supporter under the age of 22 can already claim free travel in and around Glasgow, provided they possess a valid Young Scot card.
The First Bus App is free to download and will allow Thistle supporters to play their matchday journeys, as well as track their bus in real-time.
The free travel offer is only available to Partick Thistle season ticket holders and is available to access via the First Bus App only. This offer cannot be used for tickets purchase on board the bus and is only valid to redeem on home match days.
Graeme MacFarlan, Commercial Director for First Bus Scotland, said: “We’re delighted to form a partnership with Partick Thistle which will bring free and sustainable travel options for Thistle supporters on matchday throughout the 22/23 season.
“First Bus has been a part of the community for many years in Glasgow and with Firhill situated within walking distance from a number of bus routes, we have a range of travel options available for Jags fans within the Glasgow area to attend matches. We are hopeful this initiative will further encourage people to choose public transport as their preferred method of travel, especially on matchdays at Firhill and we are delighted to show our commitment to that support.”
Gerry Britton, Partick Thistle Chief Executive, said: “We’re excited to launch this new partnership with First Bus Glasgow which will see season ticket holders benefit with a free and safe transport option to all home matches this season.
“Our supporters returned in their numbers last season, and it was fantastic to see them back at Firhill. By partnering with First Bus, we can give a sustainable transport option to fans who live in the Glasgow area to travel to matches and help create the iconic Firhill atmosphere each week.”
All Thistle supporters are encouraged to ensure their contact details with the Club are up to date to ensure they receive their promotion code.
