First Bus offers free travel for Glasgow comedy fans

Anyone attending this year’s Glasgow International Comedy Festival (GICF) can take advantage of free bus travel to and from shows thanks to the festival’s new partnership with First Bus.

To officially launch the partnership, Scott Agnew presented a special edition of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival official podcast, recorded on a First Bus, taking in the sights of the city with special guests Two Doors Down’s Kieran Hodgson, Weegie Hink Ae That?!, Raymond Mearns, Leah MacRae and Elaine Malcolmson all hopping on board to join them at intervals throughout the episode.

GICF gets underway on 15th March and will take place over 19 days at various venues across the city. The partnership with First Bus has been designed to enable easy and convenient travel for comedy fans to get to and from shows.

To take advantage of the free travel offer, ticket holders simply have to enter the promotional code they receive by email from GICF into the app. They will then receive a free day ticket valid for use during the festival, providing an environmentally friendly, safe way to travel to and from

Comedy stars performing as part of this year’s line-up include TikTok star Paul Black, Loose Woman Kaye Adams, Taskmaster star Phil Wang, GICF veteran Jason Byrne, Ted Lasso’s Nick Mohammed, Father Ted’s Ardal O’Hanlon and actor & writer Fern Brady.

Glasgow International Comedy Festival is now in its 20th year, celebrating the very best in stand-up comedy, sketch shows, and other comedy performances, there are more than 400 shows to choose from this year - helping to cement Glasgow as the world’s funniest city.
